Commercial Business Development Manager

The Commercial Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving the growth and market presence of our commercial lending products by nurturing strong relationships with accredited brokers and aggregators across New South Wales. This role plays a critical part in identifying new business opportunities, educating the broker network, and delivering tailored commercial finance solutions that align with client needs and risk appetite.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Proactively engage with new and existing accredited brokers to grow commercial loan volumes in line with monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Conduct a minimum of 10 face-to-face broker meetings per week to drive education, relationship-building, and deal flow.
  • Manage broker relationships across NSW, with a focus on high service delivery and broker satisfaction.
  • Provide exceptional product presentations, workshops, and training sessions to ensure broker networks are confident and informed about commercial lending offerings.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities, including under-serviced regions or broker groups.

 

About You

  • 3–5+ years in Commercial Lending, Business Banking or Residential lending, ideally in a Business development broker or aggregator-facing role.
  • Proven experience working with mortgage brokers, aggregators, and third-party introducers.
  • Strong understanding of credit policies, commercial/residential deal structuring, and SME customer needs.
  • Demonstrated success in a KPI-driven environment, including meetings, deal volume, and revenue targets.
  • Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills – must be able to command a room
  • Strong verbal and written communication tailored to a broker audience.
  • Capable of influencing and educating brokers on products, processes, and value proposition.
